As there are no cars allowed on the island if you are driving then you will have to leave your car in Chiquilá, which is the town where the ferry leaves. Don’t worry, there are parking lots for you to securely leave your car here.

In case you arrive in Cancun after the last direct bus to Chiquila has left, or you just want to have a private and comfortable trip, we have available a taxi transfer that will take you directly to the port of Chiquila. If you want to hire it, we will ask you for full payment to make the reservation. The private taxi can be at the time you decide, we just need to book it in advance. It depends on where the cost is:

The cheapest way to get to Holbox from Cancun is by taking the direct bus to Chiquila.
It leaves daily and lasts approximately 3-4 hours. There are several departures per day, starting around 7:30 a.m. and ending around 2 p.m. With the ADO company, it costs approximately $180 pesos in second class or $280 in first class. However, it is recommended to check the bus schedules and prices as they change quite frequently. The same company leaves the airport every 30 minutes directly to the bus station in downtown Cancun for a cost of approximately $100.

The Northeast bus from Mérida to Chiquila takes about 4-5 hours.
There is only one departure a day at 10:15am (from the Noreste bus station), but this is likely to change.
There is also a Mayab night bus that leaves at 11:30 pm every day from Mérida to Chiquila (departing from the TAME Bus Terminal).
Alternatively, you can take a bus to Cancun and get off at El Ideal, where there is an intersection with the road to Chiquila.
